University of the People Online Undergraduate Scholarships by Distance Learning
University of the People (UoPeople) is a tuition-free online university offering distance-learning courses. It is the world’s first tuition-free online university dedicated to the global advancement and democratization of higher education. The Institution is committed to opening the gates of higher education to qualified students from all over the world. Currently, University of the People offers undergraduate degrees courses in Computer Science and Business Administration.
How It Works
University of the People is a non-profit organization devoted to providing universal access to quality, online post-secondary education to qualified students. The University does not charge students to take classes. Readings and other study materials will be available online free of charge.
University of the People will take the concept of eLearning to an unprecedentedly broader and worldwide audience. Comprised of students from around the world, the student body will learn through the peer-to-peer teaching method with the support of Instructors. Within the online study communities, students will share resources, exchange ideas, discuss weekly topics, submit assignments, and take exams.

Completing programs that offer academic degrees has become a real and attainable opportunity at University of the People. University of the People provides access to structured, tuition- free online degree-level programs in Business Administration and Computer Science.
Accreditation
Is University of the People an accredited university?
At present, University of the People is not an accredited institution. The University is in the process of preparing the necessary materials to apply for accreditation from an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. It should be noted that unless and until University of the People receives state licensing, it will be unable to grant degrees to graduating students.
Eligibility
UoPeople provides an unprecedented tuition-free online academic experience to a worldwide audience. UoPeople accepts qualified applicants who have successfully graduated from high school, have access to a computer and Internet and have sufficient English skills to complete the English-only courses offered by UoPeople. Applicants need to complete the application requirements and undergo an application process in order to be accepted into the program.
General Requirements
The admissions application process consists of two parts: Part 1 takes place online and Part 2, takes place offline, and consists of sending all of the required documents to our Office of Admissions by post.
