Masters in Strategic Project Management Scholarships - (Postgraduate)
A number of Masters in Strategic Project Management Scholarships are granted by the Swedish Government and the Erasmus Mundus Consortium.
IntroductionThe Masters in Strategic Project Management (European) course offers a balanced programme of professional training at postgraduate level informed by the most recent research in the field over a 16-month full-time study period.
An internationally recognised multiple degree is awarded by each University in the consortium.
Selection is competitive and based on academic performance and credentials. The course attracts applications from high calibre students globally.
Erasmus Mundus Scholarships are available for this programme.
Universities in The Consortium- Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (United Kingdom): Master of Science in Strategic Project Management (European).
- Politecnico di Milano, Milano (Italy): Master Universitario di I livello in Strategic Project Management.
- Umea University, Umea (Sweden): Magister in Management (Master of Science in Management).
StructureThe MSPME course comprises taught modules and a Master level thesis.
Modules are arranged into three key themes that are studied at each institution:

Project Risk Analysis and Management (4 ECTS credits)

Business Statistics (3 ECTS credits)
- An Integrated Approach to Managing Projects (Umea University)
Perspectives on Strategy and Management (7.5 ECTS credits)
Strategic Project Management Decision Making (7.5 ECTS credits)
Masters Thesis (15 ECTS credits)
Admission criteria There are three core admission criteria:
1. Excellence of the candidate: outstanding achievement in the applicant’s first degree. The minimum admission qualification is a high-quality Bachelor degree (or an equivalent academic degree) of minimum three years duration and 180 ECTS credits in a cognate discipline, or semi-cognate discipline with considerable relevant experience, e.g. business and management, science and engineering.
2. Language ability: for non-native English speaking applicants a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent is required (e.g. TOEFL 600 or 250 computer-based). A language policy exists for students with a slightly lower level of English (e.g. IELTS 6.0) who wish to apply; they are encouraged to take advantage of the pre-sessional English language course at Heriot-Watt University .
3. Student motivation and relevance of the Masters Course to a student’s professional experience to date and future career aspirations.

Documents required in English WHICH MUST BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION are as follows:
1. Application form including letter of motivation.
2. Curriculum vitae.
3. Certified copy of your university qualification.
4. Certified copy of the certificate issued by the competent academic authority confirming the examinations passed, detailed study programmes and the number of hours for each module studied.
5. Proof of level of English.
6. Two letters of recommendation, preferably from the university or institute that awarded your first degree.
7. Administrative papers: a copy of a valid ID document.
