North-South-Dialogue Scholarships
The North-South-Dialogue Scholarship Programme offers scholarships for selected master programmes. The scholarship covers travel expenses, accommodation plus a monthly scholarship of up to EUR 940.
The North-South-Dialogue Scholarship Programme strengthens personal and institutional capacity building in developing countries in the areas of higher education, science and research and thus contributes to the reduction of poverty.
Types of supportSelected Master programmes (only for priority countries and regions)
Research work in Austria leading towards a PhD in the home country (3 to max. 12 months)
Doctoral Studies in Austria (max. 36 months)
Post-doc research in Austria (3 to max. 12 months)
Fields of studyNatural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Medicine, Agriculture and Forestry, Veterinary Medicine, Social Sciences, Law and Economics (no Theology and Arts).
BenefitsMonthly scholarship rate for EUR 880.- (Master courses), EUR 940,- (PhD) and EUR 1040.- (for scholars with a PhD degree and at least 5 years of professional experience)
Providing accommodation at the place of study (mainly student halls of residence)
Extra-curricula educational activities during the stay in Austria
Support for German courses, the participation in conferences, field research in the home country
Travel expenses only for scholars from priority countries and -regions of the Austrian DevelopmentCooperation and Least Developed Countries (LLDCs)
Requirements
- Nationality of a Non-European developing country
- Supervisory consent of an Austrian scientist
- Master degree or equivalent degree from an accredited university
- Guaranteed employment in the home country which will be taken up again after the scholarship
- Excellent German and/or English skills
Deadline: June 30th & December every year
