Shell Centenary Scholarships and Shell Centenary Chevening Scholarships are open to students who are citizens of any country other than Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States. Awards may be held to read for one of the following Master's degrees: African Studies, Applied Statistics; Biodiversity, Conservation and Management; Computer Science; Mathematics and Foundations of Computer Science; Environmental Change and Management; Environmental Geomorphology; Economics for Development; Forced Migration; Criminology and Criminal Justice; Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL); Magister Juris (MJur); Water Science, Policy and Management; Nature, Society and Environmental Policy; Applied and Computational Mathematics; Mathematical Modelling, and Scientific Computing; Public Policy in Latin America; and Latin American Studies.

Candidates should normally be aged between 25 and 35, be resident in one of the eligible countries and be intending to return to the country concerned at the end of the period of study. They should already hold a degree of an equivalent standard to a UK first class honours degree or be expecting to obtain such a degree before the start of their proposed course. Ideally, they should also have significant and relevant work experience.
