[Singapore] Visiting Fellow in Southeast Asian Studies Programme-National University of Singapore - (Postgraduate)
The Southeast Asian Studies Programme of the Faculty of Arts and SocialSciences, National University of Singapore, invites applications for theposition of Visiting Fellow with broad interdisciplinary expertise onmainland Southeast Asian cultures and societies. We are especiallyinterested in candidates who can teach courses on popular culture, massmedia and/or gender studies, but candidates with other, relatedspecialisations such as modern/contemporary literature, theatre,contemporary art, or pop music, will be also considered. Thisappointment is for two years (renewable), and is to begin in January 2007.
The Visiting Fellow will coordinate and teach in a summer schoolprogramme on Southeast Asia as well as contribute to research andteaching in the above-mentioned fields during the regular semesters. Interms of teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will beexpected to teach a summer module and two modules per year during theregular semesters.
Candidates should be actively engaged in research with a focus on one ormore mainland Southeast Asian countries, speak at least one mainlandSoutheast Asian language, and evidence a strong publication record orthe potential to develop one. Scholars with commitment to work in aninterdisciplinary programme are preferred. Applications from citizens ofSoutheast Asian countries are encouraged. A PhD is required at the timeof appointment.
